Del Price is a longtime resident of Luray, VA, who has a deep interest in genealogy and local history. Part of the conversation will portray an important historical figure, Bethany Veney, who is Ms. Price’s relative by marriage. Bethany Veney was an enslaved woman of Luray who authored a memoir titled Aunt Betty’s Story: A Narrative of Bethany Veney, a Slave Woman. Ms. Price, being a descendent of free blacks, will also speak about the lives of free blacks in the Shenandoah Valley. We expect a lively and informative conversation.
