The Trail of Tears is a phrase that refers to many trails and many tears, as the U.S. Government forcibly removed multiple Native American tribes from their rightful lands in the early 1800βs. In 2018, Rev. Lauren had the opportunity to journey on a 10-day pilgrimage on the Cherokee Trail of Tears, from North Carolina to Oklahoma, crossing paths with the Cherokee βRemember the Removalβ bike riders, elders, and others along the way. Join us this Sunday to hear a little about what Rev. Lauren learned from her travels on the trail, and why remembering the removal is important for all of us today.
