This little talk translates Plato’s cave scene into a more up to date view of the difficulties we encounter in attempting to “go beyond” or to transcend the knowledge provided more directly by the senses. By more graphically picturing the human mind’s freedom, we may come to understand more easily why some people don’t agree with us.
