UUBRidge Pledge Drive

2026-2027

[Ready to pledge already? Go here.]

From our minister, Rev. Lauren Spivey Levwood:

Dear UU’s of the Blue Ridge,

We are Rooted in Love

Our Unitarian Universalist faith roots us in Love. We are called to comfort one another in times of grief, to celebrate in times of joy, to support each other’s spiritual journeys, and to sow the seeds of justice in the world.

UU Blue Ridge is also rooted in a rich history, arising from the creative vision of our founding members, Emery and Rita Lazar, who longed for a spiritual home in the Blue Ridge mountains. Emery and Rita’s generosity and dedication have gifted us with friendships, Sunday services, spiritual sustenance, and the promise of a liberal religious presence in a conservative region.

Since its founding in 2008, UU Blue Ridge has been the home to many different families, couples, and individuals. Those who’ve attended for a decade or more can think back fondly to the many faces of UU Blue Ridge over the years.

Likewise, UU Blue Ridge has the potential to be a spiritual home for many more people in the years to come. Consider the people who could be part of our congregation, should we dream big enough. Imagine the diverse beauty of who UU Blue Ridge could be with ten – or twenty – new members.

We are Called to Give

As you plan your financial gift for the year ahead, do so with the people of the future in mind. By setting a place for them at our table, we will be positioned to welcome them generously, and in so doing we secure our own presence as a watering hole, a refuge, and a liberating faith community in the Blue Ridge mountains.

Please join me in pledging by Sunday, April 26th. You can submit your pledge online at this link [insert link]; or pick up a paper pledge form in person.

Thank you for sowing the seeds of love for our shared future.

With gratitude,

Reverend Lauren Levwood, Minister

Unitarian Universalists of the Blue Ridge

From our President, Jon Larsen:

Dear Beloved Community,

This year, as we come together in the spirit of Unitarian Universalism, our theme is “Rooted to Rise.” Like the sturdy trees that weather every season, our congregation finds strength in the roots we have nurtured together—roots of love, justice, and radical welcome. These deep foundations give us the courage and resilience to reach upward, to stretch toward our highest aspirations and make a lasting impact in our world.

With gratitude for all the ways you support our congregation—through your presence, your volunteering, and your kindness, we invite you now to consider your annual financial pledge. Your generosity enables us to uphold our shared values in action: sustaining vibrant worship, supporting compassionate ministries, fostering spiritual development, and advocating for justice in our community and beyond.

As we look ahead, let us pledge with hope and confidence. Our roots are strong, and together, we can rise to meet the challenges of our times, nurturing growth and possibility for all. Please join us by making your pledge today and helping our congregation thrive for generations to come.  To make an online pledge, go here.

With gratitude,
